Children's Programs
The children's programs listed below are available from the North Central Texas Chapter of the American Red Cross. These programs are offered any time and are free of charge. Due to the limited number of presenters available, we suggest that you contact the North Central Texas Chapter two to three weeks in advance of when you would like the program presented. Scrubby Bear - This program teaches children the proper way to wash their hands and when to wash their hands. The program is video driven and takes from 30 to 45 minutes. the children receive a "Clean Hands Club" card for participating. the program is designed for Pre-kindergarten through 2nd grade.
First Aid for Elementary - This program teaches children about recognizing an emergency, calling 911, checking if a person is unconscious, breathing and has a pulse, stopping bleeding and some safety tips. The program is 45 minutes and the presenter uses children from the audience as models. The children receive a certificate that they participated in this program. The program is designed for Kindergarten through 3rd grade.
Disaster Dudes - A FEMA designed educational program on the importance of preparing for disasters. Grades 4-6
Longfellow's Whales Tales
- This program talks about water safety around swimming pools, lakes and
boating. The program is video
driven and takes from 30 to 45 minutes. If the longer time is preferred, there
is a contest that the audience can all participate in. The children receive
puzzle and coloring pages. The program is designed for Kindergarten through 5th
grade.
